Ok, this might be a new weekly (more likely monthly) feature here at TOP where we take something -- it could be a TV show, a new Subway sandwich, etc. -- and vote for it Yay or nay style. Let's see how it works with the first -- Scottish rocker Rod Stewart.

Yay -- With songs like "Ooh la la" and "Stay with Me" the (Small) Faces rocked pretty good.
Nay -- The hair.
Yay -- He's a legitimate Glasgow Celtic fan, and was captured by cameras at the recent Hoops' 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League. He even got tryouts with Celtic and Brentford.
Nay -- The old Internet/urban legend.
Yay -- Bagged Britt Ekland and Rachel Hunter, amongst likely hundreds of beautiful birds.
Nay -- Five words: "Da Ya think I'm Sexy?"
Yay -- Hot daughter
Nay -- Two words: "Hot Legs"
Yay -- Got Rolling Stone magazine to write in 1980 "Rarely has a singer had as full and unique a talent as Rod Stewart; rarely has anyone betrayed his talent so completely. Once the most compassionate presence in music, he has become a bilious self-parody—and sells more records than ever." (Ticking off RS is a plus in my book.)
Nay -- "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You." Sappier than most trees in Vermont.
Yay -- Made the song "Handbags & Gladrags" famous. As we all know, this was the title theme to the orginal, UK version of "The Office." That deserves a BRENTASTIC!
Nay -- Was part of the ultra-awful "All For Love" song from the (Jack Bauer) "Three Musketeers" flick, along with Bryan Adams and Sting. (Must have been hurting for cash, all three.)
Yay -- In his 60s, still managed to knock up Penny Lancaster.
Nay -- The hair.
Yay -- The opening riff from "Maggie May" is the best use of a mandolin since the 16th century.
Nay -- The hair.
Yay -- "Young Turks" is featured in GTA: San Andreas.
That's all I could come up with. Seems the Yays outweigh the Nays. So as much as he may be a dandy or a fop and how his disco era makes you want to vomit, the soccer-loving, booze-swilling, model-bagging take the case.
Final Verict: Yay on Rod Stewart.
We'll try this again in the future. I'm open to suggestions.
