In the words of Judge Smails, 'The man's a menace."
It's Morten Gamst Pederson's world, we are all just living in it.
** Oguchi Oneywu made his debut for Newcastle United yesterday vs. Fulham. From the varying match reports I've read he either a) provided a massive physical presence b) should have been sent off for numerous meaty challenges. Interesting that he wasn't recalled for the USMNT friendly vs. Mexico on Wednesday, though it's understandable since he's just settling in with the Geordies. Brian McBridge scored again for Fulham.
** In news of the weird, apparently FSC's Max Bretos was working for the WWE doing interviews on their television shows. Seems like a match made in heaven. Most people out there probably hate Max's rather unique style, but I get a good laugh, in a John Sterling sort of way.
** It's been over two days since the disgraceful display in on the island of Sicily and yet from the little bit of information that's trickled down in English, no one has stated what exactly the Catania fans were rioting about. Was it their clubs' pitiful badge? (Oops, better be careful or its a Sicilian necktie for me.)
** Decent job by FSC this week with back-to-back midday friendlies upcoming. Tuesday it's Brasil/Portugal live from the Emirates at 3 p.m. (The Ed Melo special); Wednesday it's England/Spain. Followed by the USA match on ESPN2 at 9.m. AND the return of 'Lost.' France and Argentina also play this week, I think you need a satellite dish and probably some tin-foil too, to pick that one up.
Tuesday: USMNT/Mexico preview-o-rama.
