About that Arsenal/Manchester United game

Call this a cop-out post, sue me.
What can you really say after Manchester United eviscerated Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Tuesday night in the Champions League semifinal?
How many different ways can you write that Cristiano Ronaldo is a god in Nike cleats? (What a counter-attack! The stuff of dreams.)
If I were every Manchester United supporter in the world, I get on my computer and start splicing clips together from today's game, set to the tone of the MasterCard 'Priceless' ads, because that's exactly what the Portugueezer is -- priceless and irreplaceable -- even with a scarred up Frenchman, who likes to hijack team buses and crash them.
In short, a Kool Keith-approved critical beat down.

I agree completely. I am no United fan, but it escapes me why so many who are seem so eager to see the orange-hued, oft-flopping Ronaldo leave town. The guy is simply a great player with that extra ability to make something out of nothing. In evidence is the free kick on Tuesday or his blast against Porto - the goal that put United through to the semis against Arsenal.
I grasp how douchey and annoying C-Ron must be to have on 'your' team. He puts gel in his hair, he crashes expensive cars, he rocks the banana hammock each summer. And the worst thing - he dives. But hold up, sports fan. Which attacking player DOESN'T dive and then beg for a free-kick or card on their opponent? Gerrard? Drogba? Kaka? Messi? Zlatan? Ribery? (Do I need to go on here?)
I haven't seen the player who won't resort to a tumble if he thinks it will help them win the game. They ALL do it, and the upside if Ronaldo wins your team the kick - he's likely to be the one taking it. And ripping it into the back of the net.
The other big issue United fans seem to have with Ronaldo is that he wants to leave for Real Madrid. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Examine all the reports of C-Ron departing with a skeptical eye and you will see lots (all?) of them stem from a Real official trying to make a splash so he can get elected club President or something reported in the Sun/other tabloid. If you, as a fan of a team, want to ship out the best player on your squad/planet because of something written in the freaking Sun, you need to have your head examined.
Addendum to the above:
Now this, I completely understand. Porto fans IN PORTUGAL are mad at Ronaldo for scoring that goal that knocked their team out of the CL. They stole things from the player's CR7 store (?) and said mean words about Christiano before they left.

People hate C. Ronaldo because he is the best and he knows it, that is the simple truth.
Look, I too hate his personality and think that if he would be a regular guy on the street, I would probably kick his ass, but he's not.
He is the best and all I care is how he plays on the pitch.
Outside the stadium he could hit his mother for all I care.
Agreed. I guess that my point was that every fan hates the diving, a-hole star of the OTHER team while loving the diving, a-hole star that plays in their colors (see Stevie G, Lampsy Wampsy, etc.)
The Christiano Ronaldo case seems different in that United fans can't get past the personality and may not be appreciating how much he brings to the team.
